How it works

    Start a party on your phone

    Sign in with Spotify, tap start, and you get a 6-character code and a QR code. Connect the phone or laptop you want to play from to the speakers.

    Guests scan and search

    Everyone in the room opens the party page and searches Spotify for songs. No account, no app, no login — the code is the only thing they need.

    Votes decide what plays next

    The most voted request is added to your Spotify queue, one song at a time. Votes keep counting until a song is actually queued, so the order follows the room.

The host needs Spotify Premium

Adding a song to the queue is a playback control, and Spotify only allows that on Premium accounts. If you host with a free account, Spotify rejects the request: it is not something an app can work around.

Your guests are unaffected: they need no Spotify account at all, and nothing is charged to them.

Frequently asked questions

Do my guests need Spotify or an account?
No. Guests open the party page in a phone browser, search for songs and vote. They never log in, install anything, or connect a Spotify account.
Does the host need Spotify Premium?
Yes, and that is Spotify's rule rather than ours: only Premium accounts may add songs to the playback queue. Party Queue checks your account with Spotify before it starts, so a free account gets a clear message instead of a party that does nothing.
How are songs chosen?
The request with the most votes is added to the host queue one song at a time. Votes keep counting until a song is actually queued, ties go to the song asked for first, and one guest can only vote once per song.
How is this different from Spotify Jam?
In a Spotify Jam, guests join from the Spotify app and picks land in the order they are added. With Party Queue guests need no Spotify account at all, nobody has to be signed in or nearby, and the vote — not who tapped first — decides the order.
