Compare your music taste with a friend
Get a 0-100 taste match with a friend. See the artists and tracks you share, and what you should each hear from the other's top lists.
How it works
-
Step 1
Get your link
Connect Spotify and we create one personal invite link for your account.
-
Step 2
Send it to a friend
They open the link and log in with Spotify. No app to install, nothing to sign up for.
-
Step 3
See your match
You both get a 0-100 score, the artists and tracks you share, and ideas for what to listen to next.
Get your match link
You log in with Spotify. Your friend logs in with Spotify too, so both of you have a profile to compare.
Frequently asked questions
- What Spotify data does Taste Match use?
- Your top artists and top tracks, as Spotify reports them for three time ranges: the last 4 weeks, the last 6 months and the last 12 months. We weigh the recent ranges more heavily, then compare the two profiles.
- What does my friend see when they open my link?
- Only the match result: a 0-100 score, the artists and tracks you both have in your top lists, and artists each of you could recommend to the other. Your friend never sees your account, your email or your tokens.
- Is this the same as Spotify Blend?
- No. The score is our own measure, built from cosine similarity over the artists and tracks in your top lists. Spotify's Blend is a separate, private Spotify feature and does not share its scores with apps.
- How do I remove a match or my invite link?
- Matches and invite links belong to your account. Deleting your account from your profile removes them automatically, and the invite link then stops working.
