What is Spotify Wrapped?

Spotify Wrapped is Spotify's once-a-year listening recap. It shows the music and audio that defined your year: your top songs, artists, genres and podcasts, plus figures like your total minutes listened. Spotify has run the recap since 2015 and gave it the Wrapped name in 2016.

Spotify builds it from your own account, so the lists are personal. Wrapped appears in the Spotify app and at spotify.com/wrapped on release day. Before that day, Spotify does not publish a year-to-date report for your account. That is why people search for "Spotify Wrapped so far" while they wait.

When does Spotify Wrapped come out?

Spotify has not announced the date for Spotify Wrapped 2026. Wrapped usually arrives in late November or the first week of December. Every release since 2018 arrived in an eight-day window, between November 29 and December 6.

Wrapped itself opens on one day a year. Spotify's API keeps your listening data available all year. Spotify Stats turns that data into the same kind of ranked lists:

1. Connect your Spotify account. It is free, and there is nothing to install.
2. Open Top Tracks, Top Genres or your stats page. These use the same lists Wrapped is built from: your top songs, artists and genres.
3. Pick the range. Last 6 months and Last 12 months are closest to the Wrapped year. Last 4 weeks shows what you have on repeat right now.

In Wrapped season, the stats page also shows a "Wrapped so far" estimate. It picks a likely top artist, top song and top genres from your last 6 months. It is an estimate from Spotify's API ranges, not Spotify's own year-to-date data, so it can differ from the real thing.

What listening does Spotify Wrapped count?

Spotify counts from January 1 to around mid-November, then takes a few weeks to prepare the recap. Plays after that cut-off roll into the next year's Wrapped.

How is the Wrapped so far estimate different from the real Wrapped?

Spotify Stats estimates from the ranges Spotify's API provides. It uses your top items for the last 4 weeks, 6 months or 12 months. The in-season estimate uses your last 6 months. Spotify's own Wrapped uses its full year-to-date data, from January 1 to mid-November, so the two lists can differ.

Does Spotify Wrapped show minutes listened?

Recent Wrapped editions have included your total minutes listened for the year, along with your top songs, artists, genres and podcasts. Spotify's API does not share a minutes-listened total with apps like Spotify Stats, so this site shows ranked lists instead.
